I shoot IPSC in the UK using 38 Short Colt. In my opinion shoots softer than 38 special “shoots like a 22lr” in my Chiappa Rhino. It’s great for the follow up shot and I save a grain of powder per round for the same power factor as the 38 special. Way to go!

I use the 38 short Colt for making blanks for my blank guns and also in my 357 when we are allowed to use them. The dimensions of the brass is always correct and this makes making black powder blanks easy.

While not a new concept I have been using these cases to duplicate full power 158gr. .38 special loads for my snubbies. 2 reasons, 1. The cases clear the charge holes with the short ejection rod 2. HKS speed loaders work well with the short ammo,in spite of the stocks which interfere when using .38 special cases. I can get velocities from target (660fps) to magnum (1050fps) without over pressure signs. I'm settling on 700 to 750fps. Love starline brass, unusually for these days, they don't disappoint.

Great brass for Cowboy Action Shooting. Spouse and I have used it in our revolvers for several years. Have answered a lot of questions about it due to its appearance and have recommended it to many of my friends. It will take a lot of Cowboy Action reloadings before it wears out.

Great brass for use in 327TRR8 8 shot 357 mag smith "N" frame. I use it in USPSA revolver division and the short brass is great. I have loaded the brass about 8 times and it appears to be is great shape and ready for many more reloads.

Avid ICORE shooter. Made the switch from 38 special cases to these 38 short colts. Much easier to speed load these gems. There about the same length as a 9MM. Easy to eject and even easier to reload. Other benefits include the ability to carry more Loaded moonclips on your belt when using the north mountain moonclip holder. I would call accuracy the same at the 38 special cases. Have to use 9MM bullet seating and crimping dies when reloading.
