The venerable .308 Winchester has made quite a name for itself since it was first introduced in 1952. The .308 and its military equivalent, the 7.62x51mm Nato, is a very efficient cartridge that has excellent ballistics, while still being fairly easy on the shoulder. That, and its inherent accuracy have kept it thriving as both a competition and hunting caliber.

For the Small Rifle Primer version of our .308 Win, please see our .308 Match.

I am impressed. first the 308 lg primer was out of stock but ordered anyway, one week and a half later it's at my door. I separate my brass by weight, I had 238 in the175 gr range and 240 in the 176 gr range that left 30 in the 275 and 277 range , there were total of 507 pieces of brass, very satisfied with Starline service and product.

This is fantastic brass! Average weight came in at 173.2 grains. Very close to Lapua and a hair lighter than Federal. Not soft like Federal with very consistent lengths and primer pockets. It works like LC. Very minimal runout. Starline nailed it!

Product Review
I just finished working up 500 rounds of 308 Winchester brass and it was so nice to work with and get prepped. All dimensions were precise and the feel of working with the brass was exceptional. Primers seated tight but smooth with the same pressure required for all casings. While bulk brass always has some case mouths that get dinged the amount of deformed case mouths was very minimal and a quick pass through a neck sizer trued up all case mouths. The brass surface was beautiful. It was bright and clean and in flawless condition. I can't wait to put these through the test of firing. These are truly Starline through and through. I was surprised to see "STARLINE" written on the case head and not the typical two stars and the connecting line. Whatever. The quality is still the same.

Roy Allain Harvey, Louisiana 7/18/2020 Here is another comment with a great big Yaaaay for Starline Brass. I ordered 250 pieces of .308 brass about 2 weeks ago and just finished prepping the brass (the Benchrest way). The cartridge overall length was as advertised: the brass was 2.005 +/- .002, well within specs and was way better than Lapua brass. I’ve lost count of the time spent trimming Lapua brass. If only Starline would drill the primer pocket hole. But I know that would be pricey. Good on you Starline.

Excellent Brass. This is a company that cares about its product (QC), you can tell, by the products they make. Go USA!

Starline has positioned themselves to give Lapua a real run for the money at a far better price . Out of 500 pieces of 308 Win . I found one that needed trimming , all the rest were good to go . It is very consistent , clean , arrives in excellent shape . I neck-sized just on principle and it is now my go-to brass for 308 .

Quality to price ratio is second to none. Superior to both the LC and Win brass in every way in my AR10.

I have been using the pistol brass and Starline is tops in quality. I have to say that the 308 Brass is outstanding!! consistent in weight and length. I bought 250, just to test them out and I will be a repeat customer. Thank you for providing a great product at a reasonable price.

As soon as I opened the box, the first thing I thought was "LC brass". This is great brass! Y'all did your homework on this .308 brass! I'm buying more as soon as I finish here. Fine quality stuff. Thanks a lot!

This is the "Good Stuff"!! Bought another brand and it is like one of those throw away aluminum pans for cooking in compared to the brass Starline sells. Oh, sure, I'd use the other stuff, if I find it on the range. But it would be just for plinkin'. For some thing serious, well that's a no brainer. Starline all the way!!

Bottom line: BUY BUY BUY before they raise the price! Excellent value for the money. Purchased 1000 cases when they first released and expected an outstanding product like their pistol brass. Tested 30 random cases and this is what the stats were: OAL Avg: 2.00527 SD: 0.00083 Weight Avg: 188.42 SD: 1.309 VS Lapua Brass OAL Avg: 2.00793 SD: 0.00146 Weight Avg: 173.84 SD: 0.538 Overall: Compared to Lapua brass Starline is about 15 grains heavier per casing. However, their case length is much more consistent than Lapua. I will definitely continue to sort by weight, regardless of manufacturer. Both cases are annealed from the manufacturer and with the increased weight of Starline Brass, I can probably get more reloads than with Lapua.
