Originally named the .30-30 AR, the 300 HAM’R® was developed by Bill Wilson in 2018 in his search for improved terminal performance in the AR-15 platform while still utilizing the standard 5.56 bolt carrier group. The 300 HAM’R® has a substantial velocity and energy advantage over calibers such as the .300 Blackout and 7.63x39 which gives it .30-30 performance out of the AR-15. Bullets in the 110-150 grain range are optimal for the 300 HAM’R® and deliver excellent accuracy. With proper bullet selection you have a firearm with excellent terminal performance in a low recoiling package that hits well above its weight class. This cartridge has been used extensively for hog and deer hunting and has even been used in Africa for plains game. Hodgdon CFE BLK powder gives excellent velocity and low pressures in this cartridge.

For more information, including load data, barrels, uppers, firearms and reloading dies, please visit Wilson Combat’s website at https://wilsoncombat.com/long-guns/ar-15-calibers/300-ham-r.html.  HAM’R® is a registered trademark of Wilson Combat®

**WARNING** In firearms that use a floating firing pin (such as the AR-15 and its variants), dropping the bolt on a chambered round could lead to a slam fire. It is important that these firearms are loaded from the magazine so that the bolt loses inertia when it strips a round from the magazine. It is also important NOT to use sensitive primers that aren’t designed for use in an AR, as this increases the chance of a slam fire.

Product Review
When I began the project to build a 300 Ham'r AR I didn't think twice about whose brass to purchase. I've been a long time user of Starline pistol brass and when the started getting into the rifle calibers I picked up a few calibers and haven't been disappointed. These 300 Ham'r rounds are no exception to the quality of Starline. The finish was superb and the case necks were in very good shape for bulk brass shipments. Any case mouth deformation from banging into each other during shipment was quickly straightened and made uniform with a neck sizing die. I work over all new brass so this one step is in my routine to make sure the case necks are uniform with each other. Lengths were uniform and the primer pockets nice and tight and uniform with equal pressure required for primer seating. I'm a customer for life.

This is superb brass. I bought 500 to use in my AR and went through the standard prep work. The lengths were all within spec. The primer pockets were all round and tight. I reamed the inside of the flash hole but didn't have to remove much material as the inside of the holes were fairly clean and low burrs. The exterior finish was clean and bright. I neck sized just to make sure they were all the same prior to loading and I found little change between as received and neck sized. Sizing the necks had a very uniform feel to the pressure required. I would highly recommend this brass.

All the quality and consistency one expects from Starline. Rigid quality control is evident in holding identical dimensions from case to case. A very reasonable price point, free shipping, high quality brass that will last through many reloading's. That's why I keep ordering brass from these fine folks.
